Graduate Design Lab (GDL) is a student‑run, student‑led collective that reconceives publishing as a recurrent, public practice, an ecology of making in which ephemerality and urgency are virtues rather than liabilities.
We prioritize quicker print cycles, intentionally rougher formats, and programmatic launches that treat each publication as an event: a gathering, an exhibition, and a series of encounters that generates further making, attention, and conviviality.
Positioned as an alternative to polished, institutional architectural publishing, GDL insists that work begets more work and that dissemination be inseparable from care, looking, and collective presence.

Rooted in collective authorship and shared agency, the Lab challenges institutional boundaries by cultivating modes of thinking, organizing, and producing that extend beyond Daniels into the city, amplifying projects across the design diaspora—architecture, art, journalism, identity, and urban practice—that confront the urgencies of our time, from anti‑homeless and pro‑human spatial strategies to EDIJ‑driven research, community partnerships, and platforms for critical expression.
